Who We Are

We are a team of young professionals dedicated to enhancing Sri Lanka’s agricultural potential through innovative solutions. At Biogenic Soil Sense, we give farmers the opportunity to truly know their soil and understand their nutrient requirements. With the world’s cutting-edge Near-Infrared (NIR) technology, we provide a fast, reliable, and science-backed way to transform farming decisions.

💡 “Know your soil, know your nutrition demand.”

💡 “Scanning the soil, profiling the land.”

Our Vision

To revolutionize agriculture in Sri Lanka and beyond by enabling farmers with precise, science-based soil insights, fostering a future of sustainable productivity, reduced environmental impact, and healthy soils for generations to come.

Our Mission

At Biogenic Soil Sense, we are committed to advancing soil health through innovative Near Infrared (NIR) soil scanning technology and data-driven recommendations. Our mission is to empower farmers, agricultural enterprises, and policymakers with rapid, accurate, and accessible soil diagnostics – reducing over-fertilization, lowering costs, and protecting the environment, while contributing to national food security and global sustainability goals

Directors’ Message

Mr. Isuru Kulathunga

Mr. Kulathunga specializes in integrating novel scanning technologies and calibration systems. As the operational lead of Biogenic Soil Sense, he ensures that advanced soil scanning and analytical technologies are effectively deployed across Sri Lanka. His work focuses not only on nutrient mapping but also on the critical measurement of soil organic carbon, a key factor in soil fertility, water retention, and climate resilience.

Message:

“Soil carbon is the living foundation of agriculture—it determines fertility, supports biodiversity, and plays a central role in climate change mitigation. With our ability to extensively measure and monitor soil organic carbon, we empower farmers to improve yields, enterprises to adopt sustainable practices, and the nation to build resilience against environmental challenges. At Biogenic Soil Sense, we believe that understanding soil carbon is as important as knowing its nutrients.”
