Biogenic Soil Sense Showcases Rapid Soil Intelligence at the Hasalaka Inter-Provincial Agricultural Exhibition

13 July 2026 | Pallewaththa D47 Canal Field, Hasalaka

Biogenic Soil Sense was honoured to participate in the Inter-Provincial Agricultural Exhibition organized by the Department of Agriculture – Hasalaka under the theme “Isuru Genena Yayaak Thanamu.”

The exhibition brought together the Director General of Agriculture, senior officials of the Department of Agriculture, agricultural extension officers, representatives from agricultural service institutions, farmer organizations, technical college students, and a large number of farmers from the Minipe Project area.

As an invited technology partner, Biogenic Soil Sense demonstrated Sri Lanka’s first rapid on-field soil testing solution, showcasing how modern soil intelligence can support precision nutrient management and sustainable agricultural development.

Live Demonstration of Rapid Soil Testing

Throughout the exhibition, the Biogenic Soil Sense technical team conducted live demonstrations of the complete rapid soil testing workflow, including:

  • Representative soil sample collection
  • Sample preparation
  • Rapid soil analysis using advanced Near Infrared (NIR) spectroscopy
  • GPS-tagged farmer and land profiling
  • Instant soil report generation
  • Interpretation of soil nutrient status
  • Field-specific fertilizer and nutrient recommendations

The demonstrations attracted significant interest from farmers, agricultural officers, and other stakeholders, who experienced first-hand how rapid soil diagnostics can support more informed fertilizer decisions and improve farm productivity.

Engaging with the Farming Community

The exhibition provided an excellent opportunity to interact directly with farmers from across the region. Many visitors expressed interest in adopting rapid soil testing as a practical tool to improve soil health, optimize fertilizer use, and reduce unnecessary production costs.

The Biogenic Soil Sense team also established valuable connections with agricultural officers and institutional stakeholders, opening opportunities for future collaborations to strengthen soil health management across Sri Lanka.

Towards a Regional Soil Health Campaign

Building on the enthusiasm generated during the exhibition, Biogenic Soil Sense is planning to collaborate with regional stakeholders to organize a Soil Health Campaign in the near future. The initiative aims to increase awareness of soil health, encourage evidence-based fertilizer management, and expand farmer access to rapid soil intelligence services.

Biogenic Soil Sense sincerely thanks the Department of Agriculture – Hasalaka for the invitation and the opportunity to contribute to this successful agricultural exhibition.

Together, we continue working towards healthier soils, smarter fertilizer use, and a more productive and sustainable agricultural sector.

Know Your Soil. Know Your Nutrition Demand.
